As a native of Kingston, Jamaica, Ronald Anthony Calder migrated to the U.S. in 1990 and began to develop an interest in aesthetics. Five years later, he advanced his education at LIBS – Long Island Beauty School in Hempstead, New York. This formal learning, coupled with his experience in the field, further heightened Ronald’s destiny for greatness. This path continued after opening Ultimate Hair Sensations and Fuzzion Hair Studio.
Early Career
Ronald’s skill to perform and master chemical techniques such as relaxing, coloring, and treating hair was enhanced. He quickly delved into hair cutting, curling patterns, and his one true love, styling. He continued to educate and challenge himself. Ronald attended trade shows and specialized classes in both the Tri-State and international regions. His enthusiasm for cosmetology and beauty is more than a few words can express. Over the years, he has acquired an abundance of knowledge and skills, which has afforded him the opportunity to build a successful career.
Professional Career
Ronald began his journey as an independent stylist, managing high profile clientele. He has developed his own unique style and specializes in doing the seemingly impossible. His professional hair styling performance with a campaign in part by Milky Way hair, Kiss products, Hydro Veil, and H&M has allowed him the opportunity to experience a corporate environment.
These experiences have also opened the door to various opportunities such as styling celebrity photo shoots and working with models and singers who have performed internationally. Ronald has co-starred in the hit BET show “Tears, Shears, and Beauty” and Fox Television’s “Good Day New York”. His work has also been published by Style Q, Passion Magazine, Salon Profiles, Mazza, Hype Hair, Black Sophisticates, and many other publications. He is an international award-winning hair stylist.
Ronald has created a following of celebrities, models, radio personalities, photographers, and art directors. These people continue to request his services for their special events and productions. He is persistent about utilizing his styling skills to reinvent what it means to have style, have decorum, and have grace. He has built a career that exemplifies his understanding and direction when it comes to hair.
Ronald Calder is currently the senior hair stylist for Evolving Beauty Elegance Magazine, and Hairtique Hair Salon in Baldwin, New York. There, he has a reputation for his clientele being the most “Red Carpet Ready”.
