Beauty and fashion trends come and go, but a trend that continues to gain popularity is false lash application and eyelash extensions. From special occasions to everyday wear, women everywhere are looking to enhance the natural look of their lashes to a fuller and glamorous look. Those looking to streamline their beauty routine utilize false lashes to provide a quick and easy way to enhance their lashes without applying mascara daily.
Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash extensions are applied to the natural lashes individually, using a specially formulated adhesive. The process begins with a thorough cleansing of the eyes and natural eyelashes to remove any makeup or oil. Next, the lash technician will use a special tool to isolate a single natural lash and carefully apply the extension to the base of the eyelash with the adhesive to bond the two together. The adhesive is allowed to cure, or dry, for a few minutes.
The length, thickness, and curl of the eyelash extensions are carefully selected to match the client’s natural lashes and desired look. The extensions are then meticulously placed to complement the shape of the eye. This process is repeated for each natural lash, with the technician working carefully and methodically to ensure a natural and symmetrical look. The entire process can take anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the desired appearance and the thickness of the natural lashes.
The application of lash extensions is a delicate and precise process that requires skill, attention to detail, and a steady hand. With the right training and technique, the result can be a stunning transformation that enhances the look of the eyes and gives the lashes a fuller, more voluminous appearance.
Eyelash Extension Certification
If you’re interested in a career as an eyelash technician, there are a few things you need to know. In New York, it’s mandatory to be a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician in order to become a certified lash technician. It is only with this certification that one is then able to offer and charge for professional services. In addition to formal training, it’s also important to have a strong eye for detail and artistry, as lash technicians are often called upon to create a customized look that is tailored to each client’s unique features and desired result.
