Job Placement

You can learn all the hair styling skills in the world, but if you can’t find a great job once you graduate, what good is it? That’s why a big part of what we do here at Long Island Beauty Schools is helping you find a job after graduation. Because our instructors and staff are also hair industry professionals themselves, we know the importance of competing for opportunities in this business. Of course, placement is not guaranteed, but we do all we can to connect you with reputable employers.

What kind of job can I expect after completing my classes?

Many employers in the area know the level of skill our graduates have. As such, they often look to us to help them fill their entry-level positions. Here are a few examples:

  • Salon assistant
  • Hair and makeup consultant
  • Fashion show assistant
  • Photography shoot assistant
  • Private hair stylist
  • Color consultant

Many of these positions offer not only a salary and tips, but sometimes benefits as well. Coupled with our efforts to place you in a job come graduation, you as a student can take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way to ensure success.

Preparing for the Job Search

Job Placement in the Beauty Industry Customer service is the key to success in the multi-billion dollar hair and beauty industry. Whether you’re working with a celebrity movie star or a soccer mom who wants to pamper herself, it’s crucial to always think of the customer first. That’s part of what you’ll learn when you participate in our hands-on curriculum, as opposed to other area schools who may place more emphasis on theory. As a result, you may find that there are more short-term opportunities where you can help out at fashion shows, photo shoots and even commercials. Build your resume with these excellent one- and two-day opportunities where you can network with key decision makers. If you make a good impression, chances are they’ll call you first when a spot opens up.
